Anticipatory Set: Visit The Library
Strategy & Purpose
An anticipatory set is a mental activity that causes students to focus on what will be learned. Its purpose is to help students engage with the topic, access prior knowledge, and possibly to reveal misconceptions to the teacher.
Resources
Librarian: The most valuable resource in the library is our librarian, Sarah Ellison. We recommend that you meet with Sarah early in your planning process so that she can help you structure your activity in a way that takes the greatest advantage of the available resources.
